About the Treatments

Initial Sensitivity Test, Intake and First Treatment
In our first session together we will briefly go over your health history and current symptoms. We will discuss the practices and history of Hoshindo, the traditional Japanese art of meridian bee therapy. The sensitivity test consists of taking the pulses, in accordance with the Five Elements of East Asian medicine, to observe your flow of Ki (Chi). The patient will get comfortable on the massage table and is then fanned with feathers to help release the stresses and energies of the day. Then, two painless micro-doses of bee venom are tapped on either side of the navel to test for sensitivity and to see how the patients’ body is responding to the bee venom.

After the results of the sensitivity test have been determined and symptoms considered, we begin Hoshindo. For the first treatment, ten to twenty taps from each bee, with up to three bees, are applied in homeopathic amounts, along the meridian lines. As the venom is doing its work, a form of energy healing called Reiki will be given followed by Zokushindo (Japanese foot massage).

Continued Treatment
Ongoing treatments are similar to the first treatment, with particular focus on areas of the body and specific symptoms that require more attention.
